Okay, so it may not be my last entry forever. Maybe I just needed some motivation or actually something great to write about? Maybe it was the hecticosity of school?

    It was school.

It's funny. People usually ask, "So what do you do?"

I, for some reason, hesitate to answer this question. But I answer it anyway.

"I go to an art school for design." They always miss the DESIGN part of the answer.

"OH what are you going to do with an art degree? Do you want to work in a museum? How are you going to support yourself?"

me: -_- "No, no, design. I'm studying car design. <insert awkward laugh> The difference between an artist and a designer is that a designer will get paid." (not a stab at artists, I am one too.)

them: "I didn't know you could get a job in that. That's so cool!"

...they weren't really interested cause they move on to talk about themselves.

I guess some look down on me cause I look a little older and I'm still "at school." The thing is, that this is for a second bachelor's. But during this time I've thought about having a "normal" career. Finance, engineering, etc. Be paid for work, have a steady income, actually growing in my investments, probably would have gotten married/engaged already, much like my friends that graduated with me from UCSB.

But I wouldn't love it, and in the end, shouldn't you be doing something you love?

This past semester, the project was based on a non-automotive brand and to design a car based around that brand. Target market would be for women, year 2020. Here's mine for MAC cosmetics.

took 14 weeks to build, wheels, body, paint.
sitting on a wood platform, with a foam buck core.
sculpted with clay sitting on top of the foam
then sealed with a paint sealer, primed and painted.

wheels are lasercut acrylic and painted, tires are made from a plaster like material called instacast
    grill is a mesh cut-out.
the door-cut lines and hood lines are delineated with pin-striping tape.

    Some renders and Ideation sketches.

    all-work is signed and dated.

Too bad I didn't do that well this semester.

PS: what makes you want to read a good blog? I'm still trying to figure this out.
